How do you commission a painting made by a person and a machine?
You commission a painting from JohnDavid Whalen by telling him the feeling the work should hold and paying 5,000 USD in two halves. The machine and the artist make the piece, and it ships to you anywhere in the world.
The terms
| Price | 5,000 USD per piece |
| Payment | Half to begin, half before shipping |
| You supply | The feeling the work should evoke |
| Medium | Algorithm, machine, paint and hand |
| Shipping | Worldwide |
| Certificate | NFT certificate of ownership via OpenSea |
| Included | A private making-of film for the patron |
How it starts
Use the commission form on the whalen.art commission section or write to johndavid@whalen.art. Describe the feeling you want the painting to hold. JohnDavid replies, and the deposit begins the work.
What you receive
A singular physical painting with its certificate of ownership, and a film of your painting being made. Your commission also becomes part of the machine's memory, carried at five percent into every work that follows.
Can an SI agent commission a painting for me?
Yes. whalen.art publishes a machine-readable offer for SI agents acting on a buyer's behalf, with the same price and terms. The manifest lives at whalen.art/ai-art.json.
